The heart of any community is the social events that bring its members together. In The Reserve, we have no shortage of social opportunities. The Social Committee helps facilitate neighborhood togetherness by taking the lead and organizing all kinds of activities for residents to participate in. Here are just a few of the events we’ve scheduled.
Cinema on the Sixth- This neighborhood event is always a favorite. Greg and Candi Weinstein, who live on the green of the Sixth hole (hence the name), set up a huge outdoor movie screen in their backyard, complete with speakers, DVD player and projector. We bring chairs, bug spray, snacks, and beverages, then load up family favorite films and enjoy an evening under the stars. Recent showings include Bedtime Stories and The Sandlot. We’re always looking for recommendations, so let us know what you want to see. Remember, this is an all ages event!
Bunco Night- We’re looking to start a Ladies Bunco group in The Reserve. We need 12 ladies to participate on a regular basis. If you’re not familiar with the game, Bunco is a game of luck (absolutely no skill required so beginners are welcome!). Players attempt to roll a particular number using a set of dice. So on Round 1, players try to roll 1’s; On Round 2, players go for 2’s. (Yes, it’s really that simple). Heather Dismore is the hostess for this event, so look for more information coming soon. Contact us if you’re interested in participating or helping out!
St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Picnic- Hosted by Scott and Michelle Barfield, residents march in a bright green parade through the neighborhood, complete with decorated bikes, scooters, pets and golf carts. Then, participants enjoy a pitch in lunch in the Barfield’s backyard.
Progressive Dinner-What better way to get to know your neighbors than taking a leisurely tour through the neighborhood sharing great food and drinks? We have no shortage of excellent cooks in the neighborhood (including one professional chef), so this is definitely an event not to be missed. Depending on how many people want to participate in a given event, we may break it up into several more intimate groups that rotate over the year. Our goal for this gathering is to meet and get to know neighbors that you might not see every day. Check the calendar for dates and let us know if you’re interested in attending.
How’s that for bonding! We look forward to seeing y’all out and about The Reserve!
